REGISTRATION

Go to https://www.mylingo101.com/ and register as a teacher using your email address and choose a password.

START TEACHING

On the Homepage click on ʻStart Teachingʻ and then create your ʻTeacher Listingʻ. Fill in all the relevant fields and make sure to include your Introduction video in the listing). Each Listing can hold 5 lessons of the same language E.g. Informal tutoring, structured grammar lesson, vocabulary lesson, Beginner lesson, Intermediate lesson, Advanced lesson, etc. You will choose your own fees for the lessons. (MyLingo101.com will take a 15% commission fee on each lesson successfully completed).

After you completed your listing you can “preview” your listing to see if there is anything you would like to change and when you are happy with your listing you can “submit”. You will receive an email that your listing has been received.

Your Listing will be published on the site if it meets our standards otherwise it will be rejected.

Please use this listing as a demo for what your listing could and should look like when completed

PLEASE NOTE: Create a new Listing for each Language you teach.

UPLOADING YOUR VIDEO

We currently only have the option to add your video via a YouTube link. Create your video and upload it to your personal YouTube channel.

Once it is uploaded, copy the url in the search box and copy it into the video url box in your listing setup.

Dont forget to “Preview” and “save ” your listing.

NB. You may send your video to info@mylingo101.com and we will manually add it to your listing for you if you cannot upload the video yourself.

ADDING LESSONS

Each Listing you create can hold 5 lessons of the same language E.g. Informal tutoring, structured grammar lesson, vocabulary lesson, Beginner lesson, Intermediate lesson, Advanced lesson, etc. and you will choose your own fees for the lessons. (MyLingo will take a 15% commission fee on each lesson successfully completed). Please remember to add the description of each lesson and also the time duration of each lesson in the lesson description E.g. 30min, 45min, 60min, etc.

NB REMINDER: Please make sure that when students book a lesson with you, they are aware of the time difference between their country and yours so that you can connect with your student at the perfect time. Students will see your lesson times in your timezone and not in theirs.

SETTING DAYS OFF

When creating your Teacher Listing there will be an “Availability Calendar” at the end of the page where you can set your off days (Leave days). During these days students will not be able to book any lessons with you.

SETTING MINIMUM AND MAXIMUM FEES

When creating your Teacher Listing – The Minimum fee range will be the lowest fee you set for your lessons and the Maximum fee range will be the highest fee set for your lessons. (For example, If you created 4 lessons with fees of $2, $5, $8 and $12 respectively, your Minimum fee range will be $2 and your Maximum fee range will be $12).

SETTING AVAILABLE SLOTS

When creating your Teacher Listing – The “Opening Hours” will be the days and hours you are available to teach.

The “Availability” will be the slots (Classes) you are able to teach. You can create 30min slots, 60min slots, etc. You are also able to add breaks in between slots ( For example, on the same day you can have a 10:00 – 11:00 slot and a 11:10 – 12:10 slot which means you will have a 10min break in between two lessons if booked).

iCal CALENDAR INTEGRATION

In order to set up iCal please follow these steps:

  1. Click on the iCal icon in your “listings”
  2. Click on “export” and copy that URL that comes up.
  3. Open your google calendar and navigate to “other calendars” and + (add) new calendar.
  4. Click on “From URL” on the dropdown list and then paste the link you copied into the calendar..

This is all you need to do to start showing booked lessons on your Google Calendar.

ADVANCED

  1. You can now navigate to your google calendar and look for your countries Public/Religious holidays and copy the URL from the “public URL to this calendar”
  2. Go to your iCal and click import. This will now import your holidays and will automatically mark these days as “booked”
  3. You can also “mark” a day or hours off by simply filling in the time on your calendar as this will “book” that time out.
  4. When you receive a booking it can take a few hours or minutes for your calendar to update and sync.
  5. Notifications will come to your gmail inbox.
  6. Double click on a booking and you will have options to copy it to your main calendar where you will have options for notifications, time and adding your student to the calendar for setting up GOOGLE MEET for your video lesson.

LANGUAGE

MyLingo101 is try international as we have an option to use the website in every language. A note to teachers is that if you want to add your listing in your own language the you must make sure that you currently using the website in your language, If you are using the website in English then please make sure that your listing is in English. You cannot add Spanish to an English listing as it will not translate back to English as it now reads it as “Gibberish”

Old users who have used a different language to add a listing will be edited by us via Google Translate so please make sure the translation is correct and edit it accordingly.

FORUM

MyLingo101 has a Forum dedicated to Teachers to help with any issues that you may encounter. Once you have become a Teacher you will receive a request to join our Private Group where you will have access to view and subscribe to the Forum
